This internship requires ample independent work, and an intern working here needs to be organized, motivated and patient, because you are not under constant supervision as you work.
First and foremost, I liked that I was treated as an equal and not just an intern. I was given the opportunity to make my own decisions and my ideas were always considered, and sometimes even pursued by the executives Matthew and Dean. I also liked that I was shown what the "real world" is going to be like, such as independent work, group meetings, fluctuating hours, etc., and I wasn't simply "coddled." Lastly, it was extraordinary for me to see my work making a difference for the Deaf community, such as the #OpenCaptionsNow movement.
